Our commitment
Unbottled works with every kind of school, pupil and member of staff, and we want this website to be usable by as many people as possible. That includes people who use a keyboard instead of a mouse, screen readers, magnification or voice control.
The standard we aim for
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.
What we have done
- Every page has a clear structure, with one main heading and headings in order.
- Images have text descriptions, and decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
- The site works with a keyboard, and links and buttons show where your focus is.
- Text can be enlarged to 200% without losing content, and the layout adapts to small screens.
- Text and background colours are chosen for strong contrast.
- Moving elements stop if your device is set to reduce motion, and the speaker carousel pauses when you hover over it or move into it with the keyboard.
- The videos inside Unbottled Online lessons are captioned.
Known limitations
- Some pictures of the Unbottled Online platform are illustrations rather than working screens. Their descriptions summarise what they show.
- The site loads fonts from Google Fonts. If they are blocked, a standard system font is used instead.
We are working on these, and on anything else you tell us about.
